On average, 5 humans are killed by sharks - by accident – every year.
and…
173 million sharks are killed by humans – on purpose – every year!
Yet sharks are actually critical to maintaining the ecosystem of the ocean and the million of species that depend on it – including humans.
Scott Cassell heard the call, befriended sharks, and has seen (first-hand) the result of ravaged reefs, increased predatory squid population and other dangers setting up to tip the oceans delicate balance. A balance built and sustained by nature for millions of years. Scotts mission: sound the alarm to inspire the action that creates a sustainable future – for all!

Scott will also be bringing the depths of Big Blue into view at the 2012 Tahoe Expo. The featured Adventure Track, Beneath Big Blue will provide visual and audio insight from his live submarine dive up to 500 ft below the surface of the lake. Scott is diving in the Lake throughout the summer to study plastic particles in plankton in the lake. A summary presentation of his study will be presented at Embassy Suites in October. (stay tuned for details).
It is thru the mission alignment of UVP (Underwater Voyager Project) and Sustainable Tahoe to create water awareness that Scott has offered to provide live views from under the water at the Tahoe Expo. This is a featured and unprecedented opportunity for the public to see what lies beneath the surface. learn more at: Tahoe Expo
